Kuwait is forecast to have posted a record budget surplus of 8.7 billion dinars (32.7bn) in the 2007/2008 fiscal year, reported AFP, citing a report by National Bank of Kuwait. The report estimated the oil-rich emirate has posted record revenues of 19.17 billion dinars ($72bn) in the year running from April 1 to March 31, up 130% on a budget projection of 8.3 billion dinars. The unprecedented high revenue and surplus is the result of record oil revenues, estimated by NBK at 18.15 billion dinars ($68.2bn), or just under 95% of total income.
